Meet the craftsman

Jason is a born craftsman. One of his fondest memories was spent working alongside his grandfather in his workshop, making stuff. The first thing he made as a seven year old was a timber key ring.

Jason and his wife Rebecca took on a grand old lady ready for her own transformation; a 1930’s bungalow. Armed with their new and often complex experiences of stripping back the layers of a yesteryear home, and adding heritage-styled details with modern technology, Jason wanted to share these and his craftsman expertise to provide an exceptional experience to customers in transforming their existing home, or help them design their dream spaces in their new build.

As both the creative and the craftsman for Craftsman Cabinets, he’s never too far from his workshop or clients, visualising designs and bringing them to life.

A keen adventure and sportsman, you can catch him down the road at the local fields passing a footy ball around while allowing the creative juice build up; if he’s not renovating or doing something up that is.

The ability to build, shape, remodel, design and construct saw him topping the class in wood work at high school and he was on track to becoming a highly sought-after cabinet maker / joiner. A part-time job during school with a local cabinet-maker set him on the path to construction, and the day he walked out of the school gates for the last time, it was towards his apprenticeship.

Being on the tools in his dream job no doubt came with issues that needed fixing; all part of the territory. But soon enough he earned his spot in 2013 Apprentice of the Year, winning Trainee of the year and the supreme Apprentice of the Year.

Having spent the last 10 years dreaming up design projects for clients, it was his own personal project that helped him discover his calling.

“It is a pleasure to write a testimonial for Craftsman Cabinets Limited. It is obvious that Jason takes pride in his work, the quality and attention to detail was next level. It was great working with him throughout the design and building process. He also made many helpful suggestions to solve unforeseen problems, plus, made cupboards to fit awkward spaces. He was easy to contact and quick to respond to any questions. We would certainly recommend Craftsman Cabinets Limited and would be happy to work with Jason again in the future. “
