Our Design Process

What you can expect when you work with Craftsman Cabinets.

As many of our clients have concepts and plans from their preferred designer before getting in touch with our team, the below process will not apply to everyone.

If you do have plans and would like us to quote these for you, please send through all relevant information to info@craftsmancabinets.co.nz

Step 1 – TALK

Get in touch to make an appointment for a consultation with our craftsman Jason.

Step 2 – MEET

We will discuss your ideas and gather information which will include key features, functions, aesthetics, budget and time frames.

This information will become our brief on which we will craft and build your design.

Step 3 – DESIGN PROPOSAL

After our first meeting we will take all information back to the office and produce an initial quote for your project.

If relevant, we can produce 3D concepts of what was discussed at a cost. We will either email the designs to you or arrange a time to meet to discuss our thoughts.

We aim to get the design right the first time but sometimes it takes a couple of options merged together to achieve the optimum result.

Step 4 – QUOTE

Once you are happy with your design, we will provide you with an updated, detailed quote with any changes discussed and our terms of trade.

On acceptance of your quote we will produce an invoice for a 50% deposit, which allows materials to be ordered for manufacture of your new project.

Step 5 – SITE MEASURE & MANUFACTURE

Upon receipt of your deposit, site measures are taken at relevant points in the process and again once your space is at a stage of completion to allow for accurate measurements.

A project timeline will be confirmed and depending on project, we’ll discuss any extra tradespeople who need to be involved.

Step 6 – INSTALLATION

Once manufacture is completed we will be in touch with you and the other trades to confirm your installation date along with the offer of a factory visit to view your completed space.

After factory visit and/or installation confirmation, we will issue a progress invoice of 30%.
As installation can take several days depending on the complexity and size of your job it may be necessary for us to make further visits as the rest of the project continues.

Step 7 – FINAL SIGN OFF

Jason personally oversees the installation and/or delivery of all items and takes great pride in ensuring his customers are delighted with the finished product.

At this stage the final 20% payment is due.

FOLLOW UP SERVICE

Approximately three months after your project has been completed we will contact you again to make sure you are enjoying your new space and are completely satisfied with our workmanship.

During these first few months of use in your new space hardware will be wearing in, doors will begin to close more freely and draws will run more smoothly. With this, you may find they need of adjusting which is quite normal. One of our team will visit you to complete any required adjustments and continue to give you support throughout the life of your space.

Kitchen review - Franklin, Auckland

“Thank you. We’re very impressed by the quality and look and feel of the kitchen. Jason and co were really easy to deal with, they worked to get everything we wanted within our budget, understanding our need for an exceptional quality to value ratio. The fit and finish of the kitchen is unfaultable and if you want something that looks amazing, but is also hard wearing and well-constructed, than you won’t be disappointed with a kitchen or cabinetry from these guys"
